• Request and review product information sheets for every new product
• Analyze category and product performance
• Proof catalog pages to ensure that all product information is accurate.
• Monitor industry trends and attend major trade shows

AmerMark is looking for a talented and dedicated Import Planning & Compliance Supervisor to join our Inventory Planning team. This position would be responsible for overseeing and providing direction, support, and guidance to the Traffic and Import Coordinator. Ensuring reasonable care is used to be compliant with U.S. Customs and utilizing freight resources to ensure our goods are moved as cost efficiently as possible.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervise the activities of the Import Planning Team including hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations.
• Responsible for achieving departmental and company goals within areas of direct responsibility.
• Maintains direct contact with merchandising, accounting and the distribution center.
• Conducts post entry audits to ensure correct valuation, quantity, country of origin, classifications, assists, and fees are claimed to U.S. Customs.
• Works with merchants, vendors, brokers, and various resources to classify direct import products while obtaining the lowest duty possible
• Collaborates with brokers/freight forwarders and vendors to file ISF’s by deadlines.
• Continually research opportunities for sourcing to countries with Free Trade Agreements and keeping up to date with laws, regulations, and liabilities applied to importing.
• Works with brokers and internal departments to promptly respond to any CPB 28 or CBP 29
• Works with vendors and accounting to set up wire transfers
• Works with freight forwarders to consolidate our freight to ensure maximum cost savings
• Find ways to improve processes to ensure maximum compliance, efficiency, and cost savings.
• Troubleshoot issues that arise internally, or with vendors, brokers, and U.S.Customs.

Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge:

• Bachelor degree required or equivalent experience and 4-5 years’ experience in a supply chain environment, preferably including supervisory or managerial experience
• Computer literacy is required, including experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Must have the ability to effectively negotiate with vendors and build positive business relationships
• Must be detail-oriented with effective communication, problem solving, analytical skills, able to multi-task and follow-through with multiple projects
• Knowledge of the Global Supply Chain, the trade industry, traffic, and compliance in regards to importing into the United States
• Experience in import compliance, transportation/traffic, and brokerage
• Ability to interface with all levels of the organization
• Willingness to learn new skills and work within a changing, dynamic environment
• Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills are a must
